Changes To First Home Owners Grant

January 5th, 2010 | Tags: , , , , ,

The Boost to the First Home Owners Grant (FHOG) offered by the Federal Government ended on 31 December 2009. Therefore, the FHOG has reverted back to $7,000 in NSW (For other States, check your local Office of State Revenue website). In addition, the Office of State Revenue has made the following changes: From Friday 1 January 2010, eligibility for the existing FHOGS benefit of $7,000 will be restricted as follows: New South Wales – purchase property value capped at $750,000.  (i.e: If the purchase price exceeds $750,000 you will be ineligible for the Grant). Western Australia – purchase property value capped at $750,000 for post codes south of the 26th parallel (i.e. from Kalbarri 6536) and $1,000,000 for post codes north of the 26th parallel (i.e. from Denham 6537)
